Both mine and B's inital reaction was "it's pink not red". Aside from the colour it looked like a nice layered cake. It didnt have much of a smell to it. It broke easily in half and had the texture of any cake. It was soft and fluffy. It didnt taste like a sweet cake that we are used to.
