sunflower haw flakes (china)
I thought these were going to be different to what they are, i'm not sure how exactly, but maybe more like a refresher sweet.According to google they thin discs made from the hawthorn plant and are used to aid digestion in Chinese medicine. They are also eaten as a sweet snack.
The flakes are a pinky/redy/brown colour, circular and about 2mm thick each come in a small roll of about 12 flakes. They have a slight herbal scent but nothing really strong. They are a firm texture but easily break. They have an unusual taste but its not a nasty unusual. There is a lingering after taste from them.
i think as a 1-off they are ok but not something i would buy regulalry.
