 Welcome to our blog on snacks from around the world.

I'm Amy, a mum of 3 boys and owner of a couple of blogs including this new one. I have 3 cats and a dog, i'm disabled and I home educate my youngest son B.

As part of my sons home education and geography work we are going to be looking at snacks from around the world. We are going to buy them, try them and rate them and add info on them to here.

Hopefully we will have fun doing it and in the process will get to try new foods. They could be sweet, savoury, drinks, items like soups etc. We are hoping to get snacks from as many places as we can so we will be asking friends and family to get stuff if they go abroad for holidays as well as buying from supermarkets, foreign shops and anywhere we visit (like Chinatown etc).

The image left is the first of a few deliveries of snacks, there is a mix of things there. There are more on the way.

There are quite a few companies that do snack boxes but upon looking the items in each box are all linked to 1 country so you have to wait for others the next month. I have hunted the internet and found places that have snacks from different countries and therefore i am making my own box to keep them in and we can try them as and when we like.

I am looking forward to trying the tikka masala doritos from India BUT they are meant to be hotter than the chilli heatwave in the UK and also the Chakalaka soup from South Africa - this is because last year we were watching a bird camera which had Chakalakas on it and we spent ages mimicking the bird as it seemed to dance and then stop when it thought someone was watching and would then start again! B wants to try and pokemon soup from China.

We hope that the info we share is helpful to you if you are wanting to try different snacks but are not sure. Be brave and try them, we are!
